Scenic wallpaper began as hand-painted panoramas that ran around a whole room. These murals carry on that idea, printed to your exact wall size.
What is scenic wallpaper?
Scenic wallpaper is a panoramic picture that runs across a wall, or around a whole room, instead of a small repeating pattern. The tradition goes back to the painted panoramic papers of the late eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. This collection gathers our painted scenes in that spirit: old-master style landscapes, misty lakes and glens, and chinoiserie gardens.
Why made to measure matters. A scene only works if it is not cut off in the wrong place. Printing to the exact width and height of your wall keeps the composition whole, with the horizon where it should be.
Where to use it. Dining rooms, hallways and stair walls are the classic places for a scenic paper, because the eye travels along the wall as you move.
