How to hang your mural

Every Casavono mural is made to measure and surprisingly easy to hang. Follow these steps for a clean, professional finish, whichever paper you chose.

01 Panels are numbered and rolled in hanging order.
02 Always hang from left to right.
03 Butt each panel edge to edge, never overlapping.

What you will need

A tape measure, a pencil, a spirit level, a utility knife, a smoothing tool and a clean damp sponge. Then, depending on your paper:

  • Non-Pasted · wallpaper paste, a paste brush or roller
  • Pre-Pasted · a water tray or a sponge to activate the adhesive
  • Peel & Stick · just a squeegee (included on orders over $150)

Prepare the wall

Your wall should be smooth, dry and clean. Remove any old wallpaper or flaking paint, fill and sand any holes, then wipe the surface down. Freshly painted walls need at least three to four weeks to cure first. Mark a true vertical line at your starting point with the spirit level so your first panel hangs perfectly straight.

Non-Pasted

Paste the wall · most durable

  1. Unroll and check your numbered panels are all present and undamaged.
  2. Apply paste evenly to the wall, covering the area for the first panel with no dry spots.
  3. Hang panel one against your vertical line, then add each panel edge to edge.
  4. Smooth from the centre outward to push out any air, and roll the seams.
  5. Wipe away any paste at once with a damp sponge, then trim the excess at the skirting and frames.

Pre-Pasted

Just add water · refined texture

  1. Check your numbered panels, then lightly activate the back with water using a roller or sponge.
  2. Let it rest for the minute noted on the panel so the adhesive develops.
  3. Hang panel one to your vertical line, then butt each panel edge to edge.
  4. Smooth from the centre out, roll the seams, and sponge off any excess.
  5. Trim cleanly along the skirting and frames once positioned.

Peel & Stick

Self-adhesive · renter-friendly

  1. Check your numbered panels and mark your vertical guide line.
  2. Peel the backing a few inches from the top and align panel one to the line.
  3. Press down and squeegee as you slowly peel the rest, working top to bottom.
  4. Butt each panel edge to edge. It stays repositionable for up to 24 hours if you need to adjust.
  5. Trim the excess at the skirting and frames with a sharp knife.
